- Transport Service of Central Indiana was named and started by Reo Hockaday, (while in semi-retirement), inside the garage of R&D Transport, Inc. back in 1982. At first Transport Service only worked on R&D Transport's equipment. Later that same year Reo started to take on outside jobs from other haulers in the industry. The business volume overwhelmingly grew so that Reo had to retire completely.
- In 1984 Transport Service became a division of R&D Transport, Inc. Rex and Dan Hockaday (Reo's sons) managed Transport Service until Rex's passing in 1993.
- Transport Service was then guided solely by Dan Hockaday, where in 1994 it was then fiscally separated from R&D Transport becoming it's own corporation.
- In 1995 Transport Service acquired the property next door to R&D Transport, 9195 U.S. Hwy 136 (the current address) and added three repair bays and more parking space.
- In 1996 R&D Transport moved it's trucking operation to Clermont Indiana, leaving Transport Service all of the property in Brownsburg Indiana for even more expansion.
- As of today Transport Service is qualified to do all tests and repairs on tanks, trailers, tractors as well as other heavy duty equipment. Our certified welding experts specialize in welding and fabrication on aluminum, stainless steel, and other mild steels. We also test and repair certification of D.O.T. Spec. tanks.
